In The Frame | Rosanna Bossom

In the first of our series of "In the Frame" interviews with Interior Designers and Entrepreneurs we talk to a very exciting London designer, Rosanna Bossom. Well known for her eclectic interiors, cleverly combining old and new, Rosie has created some gorgeous and exciting interiors.

Here's what she had to say in our interview...

DID YOU ALWAYS DREAM OF BECOMING AN INTERIOR DESIGNER OR WAS IT MORE OF A GRADUAL REALISATION?

Rosie: I have always had the design bug. I remember re arranging furniture in my bedroom monthly when I was younger!

WHAT'S THE MOST EXCITING PROJECT YOU'VE EVER WORKED ON?

Rosie: We had the amazing opportunity to work with couture designer Rifat Ozbek on the design, procurement and installation of 5 Hertford Street. His taste is wild and wonderful to say the least. Having worked alongside Rifat on many projects we are constantly inspired by his fearlessness of clashing patterns and colours!

DO YOU HAVE A GOLDEN RULE WHEN DESIGNING A SCHEME?

Rosie: I don't think I have rules as such. I guess starting with the building itself, taking into account the context, architectural features and period before beginning the creative process. Originality is also very important, so I definitely try to take risks and be bold with my use of colour, texture and pattern!

WHICH COUNTRIES HAVE YOU VISITED WHICH HAVE INFLUENCED YOUR STYLE THE MOST?

Rosie: I would say Spain or Turkey - both are full of original craft/ design which is emanated across the rest of the world.

WHAT IS THE MOST INTERESTING PIECE OF FURNITURE YOU HAVE SOURCED AND WHERE DID YOU FIND IT?

Rosie: Probably an Ettore Sottsass pink mirror, I found it on 1st Dibs for a client.

WHAT IS THE MOST CHALLENGING REQUEST YOU HAVE EVER HAD FROM A CLIENT?

Rosie: To completely furnish a 5 bedroom farmhouse, in 5 weeks, in the middle of lockdown!

AND FINALLY WHAT WOULD BE YOUR TOP 3 ADDISON ROSS PRODUCTS AND HOW WOULD YOU USE THEM?

Rosie: The White Large Lacquered Scallop Ottoman Tray - This would look great as a drinks tray on an Antique Chest of Drawers in a Sitting Room.

The Faux Horn Photo Frames would look great on some joinery.

And the Toscana Midnight Square Alarm Clock on a bedside table.

Thank you Rosie and we wish you all the very best with your forthcoming projects.
